OUR SOLAR PARK
WITH THE POWER OF THE SUN:
WE ARE 100 % ENERGY POSITIVE
THE KEY FACTS ABOUT THE PROJECT
- Sustainability is key: We are 100% energy positive and supply our event location completely self-sufficiently.
- Energy for our events: We can operate our wind tunnel and wave entirely with our own renewable energy.
- Solar power is the future: Our photovoltaic system was built entirely without government subsidies. It's an investment in a sustainable future, both from a business and economic perspective.
Sustainability is not a trend for us, but a core principle. With the construction of our 52.000 m² solar park, we are taking a decisive step towards the future – demonstrating that experiences and responsibility go hand in hand. For us, energy means far more than just electricity: it is the force that powers our arena, moves people, and creates lasting memories.
THIS IS HOW IT CAME ABOUT
OUR solar park
The project was implemented entirely without government funding and financed exclusively through private capital. The Jochen Schweizer Arena thus demonstrates that sustainable investments can be economically viable and future-oriented even without subsidies. This entrepreneurial approach underscores the commitment to taking responsibility into one's own hands and sends a strong signal of initiative and innovation.
THE FIRST ENERGY-POSITIVE EVENT LOCATION IN ALL OF EUROPE
The Jochen Schweizer Arena is leading by example: The Brunnthal solar park generates more energy than the arena consumes – including offsetting the travel time of our guests. This makes the entertainment center a completely energy-efficient facility. Europe's most energy-positive event location
The Facts About Our Solar Park
- Area: 52.000 m² (5,2 ha)
- Capacity: 6,3 MWp, production approx. 7,1 GWh/year
- Electricity for 2,5 times the arena's needs
- 2,2 km direct line to the arena
- Innovation and battery storage for self-sufficient power supply
- Investment: €9,559 million – without government funding

Our EVENTS – Energized by
Solar power
With the solar park, the entire adventure park will be powered by 100% solar energy in the future. Every activity thus represents sustainable energy, technological innovation, and an emotional experience.
The first indoor surf wave is powered entirely by solar energy. Beginners and professionals alike can surf year-round on a perfect, standing wave – at ideal temperatures and with the knowledge that every movement on the wave is generated by renewable energy.
In the Jochen Schweizer Arena's vertical wind tunnel, one of the most modern of its kind in the world, guests experience the sensation of freefall. Powered by its own solar energy, every "freefall" flight becomes a climate-neutral experience, combining high-tech with sustainability.
All kitchen areas – from the event kitchen to the wok station – will now be powered by solar energy. This way, sustainability is not just tasted, but experienced.
The arena's virtual worlds, including the VR Base Jump and immersive 3D adventures, will in future run entirely on solar power. What was previously considered an energy-intensive technology will become a showcase project for climate-neutral entertainment.
